Yeah, it's more about '7' than 17, I guess it would just get boring with 7, so mix it up by using 17 and it gives you more rhyming options.

The common opinion is that Prince uses the number as a Biblical reference.

7 is a 'Biblical' number, but that's just another "borrowed" reference of Christianity's, it's a number found in most spiritual and religious ideology - especially those of the Abrahamic religions (esp.
