I'd be tempted to just get all the upcoming releases in stores - is other people's experience with Amazon that they deliver stuff on the release date, or they send it out on the release date? | |

I have never ordered music from amazon, but used to pre-order the Harry Potter books for my children, as well as video games. Always in these instances, I never got the item until after it was available in stores. They typically shipped either the day before or the day of the release. I won't go that route on the CD, I will buy it in the store. | |

I "preorder" Battle Front 2 through Amazon. It's a video game. It ended up getting to my house about a week after the date I could have walked into a store and bought a copy for less. Fuck preordering! News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Anyone who preorders CDs online is missing out on the experience of going 2 the record store, and obsessively asking if they have the new Prince album. It's always much fun 2 check their reaction. It's kind of rewarding 2 exact revenge on musically ignorant muggs behind the counter, who (unfortunately) R used 2 people asking for the latest release by the latest bubblegum pop-rap-r&b "artists"...
