I saw this site about lyrics. I clicked on Prince and was scrolling through. I got down to "Purple Rain" and saw some songs that weren't on the album but they were out at that time. I came across "Backwards Message" and I clicked on it and it said.....

Prince has done this a number of times, and it even occurs a few other times on the PR album. I think it one can be found during Baby I'm A Star as I recall.

Have you ever listened to Purple Rain?

You can easily find out what they say, or listen to it yourself.

All you have to do is trim the song down and then reverse the sound file. both those things can be done with the sound recorder provided with every windows system.

It's in both versions, 12' and album. Listen to the part when P says "There's something else...the afterworld." It's a whole section there. It starts off with "when I was a @$%^&@, there was a girl named Stella." It comes in and out after that.

Theres a backwards section on a few other tracks too , including Girl and However much you want. The backwards bit on Baby I'm A Star is something like:
" what do they know, all there taste in in their mouth"

its a female voice reciting the lyrics of the song backwards, but with the word 'boy' instead of 'girl'.

The bacwards message on "Baby I'm a Star" is actually a scene cut from PR. From what I remember, the scene is Wendy and Lisa, talking while rehearsing, just before Prince walks in. But the strange thing is the most audible part of the whole thing is one of them saying "Let's Go...Crazy".

You'll clearly hear P's voice multitracked saying "Here We Come For You". That's the best backward mask I've heard from P.
