It's hard to hear the lyrics in the rehearsal version... dunno about a studio but there's two different rehearsals i think. i remember one i had before(think its the nice version) and i have another thats different. on the first version i had the lyrics were alot clearer. . . yeah, it's about 40 seconds or something and it sounds GOOD where the hell are all these kind of tracks that we only have clips on or even only information about. do they deliberately hold out on those (the bootleggers) to give them one by one amongst rehashed boot material? think: teacher, teacher/it's a wonderful day/train on the dream factory bootleg a few years ago. where did those tracks come from all of a sudden? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Some folks apparently do hold them back. I remember somebody posting a snippet of the actual "Lust U Always" at amp, but declined to put it in circulation. Then again, there are individuals even on this site who claim to have "Cosmic Day" and a few other mid-80s tracks but aren't willing to put them out widely.

IstenSzek said: maybe we should torture them until they give m up I can't possibly churn out myself a record as bad as "Newpower Soul" for them to listen to. I think the plan would backfire.

It's not the bootleggers holding out, they're there to turn a profit and put the stuff out there. It's the handful of private collectors the keep the goodies to themselves, and trade only with people they can trust. There's far more stuff out there than there is generally circulating, it's just a case of whether those that have it want to "free" it, as it were. If they give up what they have, what do they get in return?

Trading has ALWAYS been about power. FREE THE "GO" STUDIO VERSION! But actually from the clip I heard, the studio version sounds a bit too pop ish and polished for me. The rehearsal sounds much more soulful in it's raw form. My name is Prince and I want your money

I have heard that clip and loved it... I guess I was hoping there was more out there. [Edited 1/21/06 21:18pm]

I have a version of GO, it's just Prince and Wendy, it cuts off after a minute and a half or so. Sounds like somebody is secretly taping it under their jacket or something. Start off with them turning on the drum machine and then turning it slower. A very raw rehearsa. I always assumed this was a boot of them writing the song, actually.
