What's next after the Celebration '02

What direction should Prince take after this years celebration? Milk Rainbow for possible other radio singles and lay low? Release a new single from a forthcoming new cd? Concentrate on the club's second exclusive cd release? Keep the ONA tour going?

You can bet that Prince already has his bags packed for an extended vacation in Hawaii.

His pockets flush with cash from the $250,000 his working class "fams" paid for his services for one week. He'll be chilling on a beautiful beach, sipping exotic beverages and enjoying the lush island life while you poor stiffs who spent your pathetically small wages and *your* vacation time being rained on and waiting in line are counting your pennies and wondering how you'll pay your bills.

I wish all of "you" around the world... a "World Tour" as well. love Prince is appreciated around the world... by many. He has graced our Country for many years with his outstanding/beautiful performance (especially ONA) love. I know he is only "one" individual... but his essence is larger than life. His presence towers beyond our understandment... and I know that similar emotions are felt everywhere. Best wishes! I truly hope (for all) he decides to extend his presence beyond North America. smile

How long has it been? (just wondering)

Beautiful Day! love

I would have thought the same thing before attending the celebration. But for myself and many others, the cost was WELL worth it. The amount of money it must have taken to hold this event was a LOT more than I expected. Yes, I assume he made a nice profit, but it was hardly what you would expect. And believe me, I'm a very objective fan and not a Prince apologist, but he did his fans right this week.

My best guestimate is that the total cost to pay the performers along with rental of chairs, tents, and toilets is $50,000 or less, and none of those costs were carried by Prince. The fams' fees paid all costs. His profit was probably about $200,000.

As far as him doing his fans right, I would expect any performer to "do right" after charging 1,000 people $250 each plus charging $100 for nightly passes.

That would seem to be a bitter indictment of all celebrities who do that.

I can't believe people think he should do anything other than honour the terms of the NPGMC and deliver the 2002 world tour!
