There was an article in the eighties ( I think it was Musician mag) around 1988 where Jimmy Jam was interviewed and he stated "Prince has always been Prince". That was also the byline.In that, he meant and described that Prince had always dressed "freaky" in high school, before the fame etc. He described a trenchcoat outfit and freaky gear he once wore to school.
