if Prince created a new NPG, would you prefer hungry, raw talent over seasoned vets?

what would be a more exciting fit for the current Prince era--a group of raw, 20-30 year old musicians with great potential, but little experience, or savvy middle-aged proven professionals with extensive musical experience?
you look better on your facebook page than you do in person hmph!

i would prefer prince to drop everyone and go it alone again

just for an album

he can take anyone he wants on the road. as long as they can
rock out to his tunes.

altho, first time he dropped the band he came up with one of
his best, if not THE best album of his career: signothetimes

second time he dropped his band, he came up with a three disc
set that was less than perfect.

still, it would be interesting enough to see what he would
come up third time running.

i'd love it if prince put together a group like sting's band when he did "dream of the blue turtles" - really great session and jazz musicians who are a bit on the young side and who have a little bit of recognition factor, but still have enough hunger to wanna show out in performance.

Why not have the best of both worlds? A few players with experience, and a few with the hunger. nod
