I never "analyzed" it ( or even "thought it was odd") until someone posted on here that it was "out of sync". I always just thought it was a cool kind of syncopation he was doing. But to answer the person who brought it up, I sat and listened to it to break it down and explain it in what I hoped were simple terms.  |

My personal opinion is. It's just Prince trying to do something different. This should NOT be a surprise to any Prince fan. The Mountains video is funny when Jerome, Wally and Brooks are doing the Snake at the end. | |

Totally agree. I was just trying to say it's not THAT different..... it's just a minor syncopation in the drum track that just changes it up for a few seconds..... but it's not realy "f*cked up" as the title of this thread suggested. (i.e. he doesn't go into some crazy ass time signature ....which some artists do from time to time as well). |
