I went to 3 shows and an after show and it was one continuous party that I wish everyone could have been a part of. It was performed in the round, the center of the arena so that everyone had a good seat. He didn't perform Illusion, Coma... at any of my shows and I don't even think he did it at all throughout the tour but I may be wrong.

Anyway, if Prince tours this year, do whatever it takes to see him. You need to see him. All of us need to see him and if you saw him before, you need to see him again. No matter what you think of the music today, he STILL has it when it comes to performance.

Yeah it did. Too bad that didn't translate to the CD but oh well. Still a fun song at the concert!

I don't think he has played Illusion, Coma... live yet. The only tracks he performed from the Musicology album were the title song and Life O' The Party, and occasionally On The Couch, and Call My Name I think. He has also performed Dear Mr. Man before.

You will probably hear some of the hits live, but Prince has so many hits that invariably a lot are left out, somebody always leaves a Prince concert disappointed that he didn't play their personal favourite.

Although i've only seen bootleg DVD's of the Musicology tour (being in the UK), i think i preferred the One Nite Alone tour. perhaps you had to be there to full appreciate though. shrug

Well, I saw the Indianapolis show and he was well over an hour late in starting. By then, everyone had to piss and all buzzes were long gone. But the show finally started and the sound was a little distorted, very bassy and distant. Those are the con's, the pro's are infinite, though. Prince was great and I'll never forget that show.

The one I went to he didn't play Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance. Though the concert tour was a great.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

He played ICP&C early on in the tour at some shows. I saw him 5 times and heard that song once.

My impressions, it sounded alright, a little "cold". More like something Prince and the revolution would play than P & the npg. Came off kinda mid-tempo live, not a song to get the audience dancing, and not a slow jam. Audience wasn't all that into it. I thought at the time that he would have to drop that one from the tour and it seems like he did.

Oh, and overall the concert was great.

The backbone of a typical show consisted of...

Alicia Key's Hall of Fame introductory speech
Musicology
Let's Go Crazy
I Would Die 4 U
When Doves Cry(without the chorus)
Baby,I'm A Star
Shhh
DMSR( featuring Beyonce's Crazy in Love and Outkkast's I Like The Way You Move)
A Love Bizare/The Glamourous Life(brief instrumentals)
I Feel For You
Controversy(occasionally featuring A Love Bizarre and Housequake)
God(instrumental)
What a Wonderful World or Georgia On My Mind(instrumental)
ACOUTIC GUITAR SEGMENT(feauring but not limited to the following)
Little Red Corvette
Cream
12:01
Raspberry Beret
ICNTTPOYM
I Wanna Be Your Lover
Adore
On the Couch
7(usually the acoustic finisher)
Sign O the Times or Pop Life
Call My Name or The Question of U/Fallin'/The One or Whole Lotta Love
Let's Work
U Got The Look
Life O the Party
Soul Man or Knock On Wood(sung by Chance Howard)
Kiss
Take Me With U
The Beautiful Ones(sometimes)
Nothing Compares 2 U(sometimes)
Purple Rain

I believe a portion of I,C,P&C was played once or twice after the Question of U and I know it was played at least once at an aftershow.I'm sure somebody geekier than me will give you an even more detailed account.

I actually went to the afterparty too, and it just reminded me of how bad I wanted to see Prince live. But he was in the room though. smile

I saw 7 of the shows (counting the LA simulcast here in Michigan), and I have a special memory from all of them that includes meeting and conversating with Mani, my 2 friends dancing on stage with him, and FINALLY getting front row seats for the last 2 shows I attended. I had so much fun that summer, that after the last show I saw in Grand Rapids, MI on 8/1/04 I actually went in 2 a "semi-depression" because I had nothing else 2 look 4ward 2 and I knew it would be awhile b4 I would see another concert. Coming off of a high like that where from March-August of 2004 U had 7 shows 2 look 4ward 2, everything else couldn't quite live up 2 those experiences I had during the spring/summer of 2004.

I was lucky enough to see one show, Jacksonville. I was in Glynco, GA for 3 1/2 months for job training and the facility sponsored a trip to Jacksonville for the show. The seats were in a sky box so I was away from the stage. If I knew that going to the was possible, I would have bought the tickets from the club.

The ladies lost it when he sang On the Couch.

I watched the Staples Center theater simulcast and attended the concert in Columbus, Ohio. This tour will always be one of the most inspirational highlights of my artistic life.
