When I found out that Mazarati were heavily involved in 'Kiss' - sound & all - i was surprised. yes, they were credited, but 'Kiss' is a real prince sounding song & i didn't xpect that.

the same goes 4 'Power Fantastic'. Wendy and Lisa orginally wrote it as a song called "Carousal". according 2 eric leeds: "Wendy & Lisa did the ... music & arrangment" for Power Fantastic & "the song was mistakenly attributed 2 Prince."

2 balance things, it is said that the whole Dreams project was intended 2 b a 'group' project, but Wendy and Lisa should've gotten more credit.

I love the song and have always identified it as 1 of Prince's most spiritual, but from now on will acknowlege the BoyGirls input more when listening.

why is Prince so afraid to give credit where credit is due?
or is he? is it his ego, or does he feel it's just not that important?
i mean, how do u think lisa and wendy feel
i'm sure it'd be nice for them to add many of these songs to their resume'
without Prince suggesting or implying he was the sole creator of them all

wendy & lisa don't exactly seem to be complaining up a storm about it - maybe they've all just decided to leave the past as the past. most people don't know about 'dreams' or 'dream factory' anyway.

Prince is always "forgetting" to give credit where credit is due.....

The whole band deserves credit, really. Prince, no matter how talented, can't do a song in one take. He only came close to this with Batman, and even there...

I'm not big on Power Fantastic. No idea why he doesn't give exact credit -- he's given credit for songs that people did not write and denied it for some to which they contributed significantly or flat out wrote. Probably a prestige thing -- if he feels it's really great he'll take the credit to keep up the "genius" thing and then compensate by giving credit to someone else for a lesser song. In some cases, the credit was a gift, such as those he's given to his father.

Give the guy a break, he gave so many songs to 'the time' sheila e. etc, and i'm talking about top draw stuff and did not take direct credit for them.

He gave up 777 9311 which was supposedly written by the time. Heck, if i wrote that, i would hate to give other people credit for it.
