Prince's Best Instrument This may have been discussed ad infinitum on the org, but I think the answer is different for every era.
Given his chops *today* 2004-2006, what is Prince's best instrument? He can sing and play guitar, bass, piano/keyboards, and drums at a high level. Forgetting about all his other skills: dancing, arranging, composing, managing, and studio engineering, in terms of musicianship which is his: 1) "best" instrument, the one he's most technically proficient on 2) "most exciting" instrument, the one that just blows you away My answer: 1) best instrument: guitar, followed closely by piano 2) most exciting: guitar, followed closely by his voice and stage presence. Some people tell me I've got great legs...

His clever, brilliant and unique musical mind make him interesting to listen to on all instruments. His technical skill may not be on the level of a lot of instrumentalists but his skill at producing different sounds, chord changes, and tones make him a great multi-instrumentalist.
Favorite - guitar (He's become a great guitarist over the years, Underrated - drums (I love when he composes from the drumkit- i.e. "Tamborine", "Irresistable Bitch", "New Position") To me it's about composition with an instrument and not just soloing.
