By wearing the shirt, she could thank Prince for contributing to her career success. She has a hit song written by Prince being played on radio and MTV.

She could have thanked him in her acceptance speech, but instead she wore the shirt. The shirt is probably more effective in that every picture taken of her that night shows the shirt.

Whwn I heard of her wearing some Prince shirt, I thought she was cpying his style but now that I see it whe's just giving props, a tribute! Very cool off her to wear that.
