Prince gave I Don't Wanna Stop to Ren Woods in 1982, she recorded her own version of the song and then put it on her album Azz Izz.

Prince then requested the song was removed from new pressings, 'possible as he did not feel it was up to his standard', as Per Nilsen describes in The Vault.

Has anyone else have a new info on this? Has anyone at Elektra clarified the situation in the meantime? Ren Woods herself? Because I cannot find fault in this track.

Okay, Ren Woods is no Chaka Khan and the track sounds VERY disco, a sound Prince wanted to get away from in 1982, but listen to the song NOW... it features live horns waaaay before he himself incorporated them into his music.

I think the song is just a lovely tune and I am going to give it to a DJ buddy of mine, so I can dance to it on his next DJ gig, which is an 80's groove club night.
