prince plays saxophone Hardly into their teens, Prince and Andre (who uses the surname Cymone) had already formed their first group. Prince recalled, "I got my first band. I wanted to hear more instruments, so I started Champagne, a twelve-piece band. Only four of us played. Eight were faking. Andre and I played saxophone. I also played piano. I wrote all the music. -quote from 1982 interview for the rolling stone

Prince in an interview back then: "[...]I'm not Jamie Starr."
Does that confirm he wasn't? Hardly.

You mean this: (Gallery image #4459 not found!) Well firstly, the edition is dated: ROLLING STONE #394 APRIL 28, 1983 and secondly, just because Prince is featured on the front cover of the magazine, doesn't mean there is an interview with him imside the magazine. The article inside is not an interview with him - it is a profile of him by Debby Miller. . . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
