First Avenue

Hey, does anyone know if First Avenue is still open? If not,if there are any other clubs that play alot of Prince's music there. I will be visiting Minneapolis for the first time soon and wondered if there were any good places to go. THX!

You aren't going to hear much or any Prince music at First Avenue.

Does anyone know where there might be Prince music? If Paisley still has parties?

depends on exactly when you're gonna be here--first ave. has a monthly prince party in their VIP room on the next-to-last friday of every month (next one's the 27th, methinx). i don't know how those are, i don't attend 'em. there isn't any other place here in the city that constantly plays his stuff all-day-every-day. it's pretty much hit & miss, from what i know.

as for paisley parties, them days are long gone. they don't do 'em anymore.

I went to First Ave my first time in November.
I was very depressed.
It looks like walking on the set of Purple Rain...very chilling.
But its like its long forgetten Prince.
There were only about 5 or so people there... crazy dancing...but the groove was WAY off from what you would expect from First Avenue.
It seemed extra small in person, it's hard to imagine all those big time names that have performed there, it was about 1/2 the size of the local bar I go to that have shitty local bands and gets crowded, can only imagine the place on a night of a big name number.
Being in Minne in November, was just sad, Prince really had been forgotten in the city.

"Fist Avenue" -- is that part of the Folsum fair in SF?
