that 144K number always got to me....the mother of a childhood friend growing up was JW, and she didn't believe she was one of the "chosen"....and she has to be the most religious person I have EVER met, so devoute to the JW's, it was unbeleivable...yet she (to this day) doesn't think she will go to heaven. i'm sorry, but there is just something wrong in that (and this is just my opinion, which everyone is entitled to)

Well, heaven is suppose to be on earth. Being one of the chosen 144K is about serving on the right hand of God; his helpers for instance. Although I can understand that is few, I guess this is a position they can only HOPE for?

If I remember correctly, there are over 6 million JW's - What happens to the rest of them, do they burn down here with the rest of us.

If so, won't it be fun to point and laugh at them!!!

JW's don't believe in burning in hell. Hell is mankind's common grave- the dead don't feel or know anything- so they are not tormented. They believe what the Bible says at Psalm 37:9,10- that those who are righteous will posess the earth- once all wickedness is destroyed the earth will be returned to a paradise condition- and humans will be brought back to perfection; ie: no sickness, etc. Even those asleep in death will be ressurected to enjoy life in paradise as well- if they have led a life that pleases God- and only God knows this.

The 144,000 who will be serving in heaven at Jesus' Right hand are chosen by God from the earth and they will rule in his heavenly kingdom with the knowleadge of how it was to be human. They don't believe that you go to heaven to lounge around and do nothing. As angels in heaven- you are a spirit body thus giving up all earthly desires.

Not everyone wants to give up their desires of the flesh - humans were created with the desire to be together and procreate.
LOVE HARD.

Since a burning hellfire doesn't exist, and Jah has promised to keep the earth standing to time indefinite, we can take to heart what is said at Proverbs 2:21: "For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it."

Was Prince a Jehovah's Witness when Rave Un2 the Year 2000 came out? Cuz near the end he sang a very Christian song and I didn't think JW's worshipped Christ.

I dunno' but I checked out watchtower.org, and what I'm getting out of it is that they believe Jesus was created by God (his son) just like Christians do, but they don't think he is eqaul to God, and they don't think he should be worshiped.

Hence the reason he changed the lyrics of The Cross into The Christ. It became a song of testimony to Jesus, and not a song of worship.

And it should get to you, because it is taken out of context. That number doesn't account for the souls mentioned in Rev. 6:9, or the souls in Rev. 20:4 that were witnessed to be in heaven.

No, if you read the Bible, it teaches your soul will live on in heaven, if you accept Jesus as your savior.

He IS a JW. During the tour with Prince, Prince became very close with Larry Graham, shortly thereafter, Prince became a JW.

That is indeed a possibility, which is why JWs don't go around promising heaven to people who are obedient to God. The Earth is here forever, and Jehovah has always had a purpose for it.

Why do you think Prince became a Jehovah's Witness? I realize that he has always had a since of spirituality in everything that he does, but why would he pick this religion? I've heard so many strange things about JW's like their beliefs related to medical procedures and such.Does anyone have any insight into this religion?

Prince's Religion is always been and will always be the love from within prince. That love has a voice in him. He is trying to find understanding in the phyical reality to accept it. He's looking in all the wrong places, but it is his journy to journal.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

I don't believe any of us have a right to question anyone elses religious beliefs, as long as those beliefs do not violate the laws of civilization..such as human sacrifice, stealing, etc.

i dont believe anyone is questioning anyone else's belief so to speak, some of has just raised questions as to the beliefs of JW's, and that we may not agree with some of those beliefs. But that is not to be construed as "questioning someone else's belief", that is merely are right as a citizen to have an opinion or disagree with a specific religion.

Could it be, that Prince was interested in the religion before Larry came along? Its possible that seeds were planted in Prince's mind years before Larry. Maybe, Prince felt more comfortable approaching Larry because he is also a celebrity. Whatever the case, I believe that Prince believe he has found the truth and he is happy! Let him live his life!

As far as I´m well informed it was George Benson, also a JW, who convinced Prince 4 this religion. George Benson was a client of Paysley Park. It was b4 Larry Graham. So thats what I know about it.
