Bob Dylan & Prince

Have the two ever met? What do they thing of one another?

I'm no big Dylan fan, as he can't sing or dance or anything, just curious...

I'm not a Bob Dylan fan, but I love his song "Lay Lady Lay", it's one of the most beautiful and romantic songs I've ever heard.

Rolling Stone journalist Neal Karlen mentioned Dylan in his famous 1985 interview with Prince and they talked a bit about Dylan.

Prince seems to have genuine respect for him, remember they´re both from Minnesota but I don´t know if he´s into his music.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I have to admit that Dylan probably isn't the best singer in the world, but there's no denying he is great in writing songs and lyrics. In my opinion it would be great if the two hooked up and worked together. No matter how much I like Prince's political songs, Dylan is one of the best at it. But in reality chances are small they will collaborate. Too bad.

I know it comes down to individual taste, but if you think Dylan's shit then you really need to check yourself in at the local mental hospital.

If, on the otherhand, you've never actually heard any Dylan and are just making a blind judgement.. well, then you should stop being so bloody silly and go and download / buy some of his stuff.

Okay maybe a bland statement like he's 'full of shit' is a bit childish.

I have listened to him and read his chronicles and there is something about him that I don't like.

He seems to perpetuate an image of himself. Nothing seems to bother him.

He takes it all very seriously.

Part of reason I like Prince on the other hand is his take-the-piss attitude.

Bob Dylan always seems to perpetuate the male and female stereotypes.

I couldn't imagine him writing a song like "Head" for example.

Dylan is full of shit, he sings of all these ideals and then lives wants no responsibility for it. His statements over the years that he hates the fans and hates being called "Brother" and all, he's a hypocrite, take the message over the messenger. So what though, everyone is full of shit to a point including Prince.

So the basic feeling is that Prince has respect for Dylan, but snubbed him in person once?

An oft-heard tale!

Do we know what Dylan thinks of Prince?

The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

I would probably have Life O' The Party on my list. I'm sure quite a few people will probably disagree though. But I seriously couldn't narrow my list down too ten!
