sometimes it seems as if Prince could never satisfy some of us. i know that ppl here love him, but his heaviest critics r also here.

i remember when Prince released the SYMBOL cd, i also became a bit concerned & was kinda wondered about 'my name is prince.'

i wished prince would take a step back and explore his talents a bit more, as a musician. but now, when i think about that, he has done that. i think TRC, 1 nite alone and the prince we C lately is about demonstrating his skill as a musician.

as for emotional & personal songs, if 1 digs, they r there. i love "underneath the cream," & "when i lay my hands on u."

prince has done so much that we need 2 sift through his work and dig what he does that we love. as we all now, w/ each release, as time goes, there's a song that sticks w/ u.

or mayb u think prince doesn't give a f*^# about what we think??? hmmmmm

i was thinking today how Prince is so much like Duke Ellington, who a close associate said "he was the most generous and the most selfish people I have ever known" I don't think Prince loses lots of sleep over what we think and he shouldn't.
