I don´t remember off the top of my head what the b-side of my "Peach" 45 rpm single was, I guess it´s "My Name Is Prince", anyway, there´s a song taken from that specific album , and it clearly says "From the album Lovesymbol".
Of course that doesn´t necessariliy mean that Prince himself calls that album Lovesymbol, maybe some folks at WB just messed up the title but that´s what it says on my officially released 45 single, so there you go. But I guess you do have a point, it could mean something like that, like perfection, or God, or oneness, the all...unity, etc. I´m out. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. The name 'Love Symbol' was just given to make it easier to reference, much like 'The Black Album'.
The album's title is - which has no pronounciation, at one has never been given.
The symbol is an amalgam of the signs for male (Mars), female (Venus), and Soapstone, which has classically been connected with alchemy - Alchemy being the metaphorical transmutation of base metals into gold - i.e. the base human being into a more spiritual entity. | |

Where are you getting the data from? Because when I ripped it with iTunes, that is not the album name that came up.. it just said "O ( + >" (minus the spaces and quote marks). | |

Where are you getting the data from? Because when I ripped it with iTunes, that is not the album name that came up.. it just said "O ( + >" (minus the spaces and quote marks). I have my computer set up basic. I don't let programs do things that other more standard programs can and should do. I use the Microsoft Media Player. In the Media Player it reads "Love Symbol" and it says that in the drive too. I assume my copy of the Albume to be original. Maybe one of us have a reissue. I was about to get to the point of the tread, or at lease try to get the tread back on course. I am not saying Prince "thinks" himself to be God, in the ultimate sense of the terms meanings. I was trying to express the point of his stories where as a child and adult he speaks/spoke to the universal consciousness known as god. And thus, this line of thinking can, and should, be followed throughout his muisc to get a fuller understanding of what he is telling you all through his music. I know I am a little too deep for most people. I have at times even been too deep for prince. I simply was pointing out the ovious. Anyway, Media Player retrieves updated album information from an online database IIRC, same with iTunes, and then labels the disc. I would imagine it just depends on what server they hit and how someone entered that info originally. For the record, I bought my CD the day the album was released back in '92. I just stuck in my special edition of the album (in the big gold foil case) and it reports the same name. | |
