Prince to release "she Loves Me 4 Me" to radio!

Word on the street is that this may be on your radio or MTV very soon...

I always thought it was a hit, hopefully the kids like it too.

I KNOW he is doing it. Not sure about a video, probably see how the airplay goes and then shoot a video if it goes well.

Great. It has a lot of potential as a single.

Hopefully he's not concerned with the kids.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

For sure as close to a conventional single as there is on
Rainbow Children,however I'm in top 40 radio(i.e. the devil)
and all of the bad single choices and all the half decent
albums over the years, turn off corporate radio assholes(who
lack taste anyway)It would be nice! I'm sure it will do ok
at Urban AC type stations!

That's great. Because I really like that song that's my favorite song off that CD. I replayed that song soo much so I could learn the lyrics. It sounds like he's talking about Mani do you think? It also sounds like he's dissing Mayte for not loving him for him. But I hope that's not true even though he's with Mani now, him and Mayte were a beautiful couple compared to what she's with now!rolleyes

Jamie they will be knocking on your door very soon. It is true though once you burn a station or a magazine it's tough to get them back. I used to work for a big band's manager and he helped get them on the cover of Rolling Stone. Their record stiffed and Rolling Stone never did an interview or an article on them ever again because they felt like they were suckers or something.

Man-O-War was a single; did you ever hear it on the radio? question

It has been discussed to death but Prince fans ought to accept the fact that his new music will never again be played on the radio.

But why wait till now? the album has been out for 7 months!
and you know Prince has a short attention span,he is likely
on to his next project.I love him,but does every single move
he makes have to be so difficult?

Prince songs aren't played on radio or Mtv, so "word on the street" is misinformed or dreaming. Good move, Prince - release a single off an album released 8 or 9 months ago that nobody even noticed.

Really?

I like that joint but I thought that '1+1+1 is 3' might be a better choice. I don't recall any of Prince's ballads (sort of speak) aside from those on Purple Rain ever'making it' on the radio...

Not to be negative, but i don't think this would be a good choice. It is sweet and all that, but let's face it, it is not today's hit material, and too short! I say bring on Last December if he's gonna choose something from TRC.

She loves me 4 me is quite honestly the best song on Rainbow, as far as commerciality goes. I have played it for a few friends and immediately everyone thought that should be the single. If he wants to keep complaining about not being heard on radio, then do the right thing Prince, and get this song out there. I think it would get played, although he has probably pissed off many people with his complaining and defiance against anything and everything, so he better be careful, or he'll never be back on the radio or MTV. I hope we get this on the airwaves in Canada.

Um, remember Diamonds and Pearls, or The Most Beautiful Girl In The World? In my opinion its cause the later did so well that Prince has seemingly released only ballads ever since. Which i think is a real shame as they don't show him at his absolute best.

This is the Worst choice 4 radio.a bubblegum song won't
make it 4 him.he needs something very funky and provocative.
This song won't last a week on radio.

I stand corrected. I had forgotten about those. It just seems so long ago since those came out. I like "She Loves Me 4 Me" but still think that "1+1+1 is 3" might make more of an impact on the masses.

I know this to be a FACT. It's being worked at radio very soon. I think it is the most commercial song, and yes I was surprised they waited this long, maybe it will be on a new compilation? Best of?

Anyone who thinks 1+1 as a single is nuts. Remember Erotic City was a B-SIDE, and although 1+1 is my favorite track, there's really no verse-chorus-verse that radio likes.

IF you're so sure of yourself, would you mind telling us exactly how Prince, after years of being virtually ignored by both Mtv & radio is suddenly going to emerge once again? While it may be the most commercial song, it's sub par from an album of sub par material & is destined to go nowhere.

Some of you are sooo negative! You are calling this song a "flop" before it even gets the chance to make it on radio.
