p playing Stones 'Miss ÿou" footage

Hi peepz,

There's old footage of Prince doing the "Miss you" Stones song.
I'm sure some1 here knows where and when it was?

Saw it on a t.v. special long ago, and it really gave me the chills!

Thanx and a happy and 'saving money 4 tickets' 2006.
Thank God this ain't Monopoly

Prince performs an aftershow at Camden Palace, London after his 1st English...

He also performed it in 1986 in london with Ron Wood again too:

- He performed it on a Celebration...don´t remember the year...

The review says he invited Clapton on stage...but did he join, also?

Prince in July 2th, 1987 Rolling Stone: European Tour
... and the extraordinary stage set sizzled to ... On the stage level were Prince, bassist Seacer ... with Eric Clapton, Ron Wood and his new pal Terence Trent D'Arby.
A Preview of His New Show

Rolling Stone, July 2, 1987, page 11
on stage with ron wood, circa may 13, 1987Prince: Britain's Regal Visitor
Rolling Stone
"No photographs," muttered Prince as he stood with percussionist Sheila E and dancer Cat in front of hundreds of fans outside of London's HMV record store. He hardly meant it, since he'd been there for a good minute, blowing the odd kiss and timidly waving while cameras clicked away. After half an hour, Prince and company went down the road to Tower Records, where he autographed albums with "Love God P '88."

These congenial sessions, though rare, weren't isolated incidents. Upon his arrival at London's Heathrow Airport, Prince invited four fans onto his tour bus and took them to McDonald's for a burger - though he couldn't pay the bill, since he didn't have any British currency.

Then, after the first of his seven sold-out shows at Wembley Arena, he threw a bash at Camden Palace, where he spent time with Eric Clapton, Ron Wood and his new pal Terence Trent D'Arby. D'Arby sent Prince a Fender Telecaster guitar, and the Purple Wonder has shown his gratitude by including bits of 'Wishing Well" and "If You Let Me Stay" in his shows.

At 2:00 a.m. **Prince took the Camden Palace stage and played for an hour and a half. He was joined onstage by singer Mavis Staples and by Wood, who played guitar on "Miss You.**" Michael Jackson's keyboard player, Greg Phillinganes, also doodled away on a few numbers. The high point, however, was a falsetto version of the Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," which Prince sang with nineteen-year-old British soul - singer Mica Paris

I went to all of the Celebrations and a few parties too but can't remember Prince ever being on stage with Eric Clapton.

In the article below that picture:

"The entire show was documented (along with the majority of the rest of the tour) by Albert Magnoli - director of 'Purple Rain', 4 a proposed documentary on the Lovesexy tour from inception 2 out on the road."

- Noooo smile Let´s separate things...

1) I said that he played ´I miss you´ on a recent Celebration
AND
2) The scans that Banana posted here said that he invited Clapton on stage in 1986! I wanted to know if he joined Prince on stage in 86 - London too smile
Happy new Year!

"Don't you sing?" The way he hands her the microphone... while she is standing in the audience...

Still gives me goosebumps.

The only 'legendary' concert I still need to find in GOOD quality.

...you will notice that there is more than one article. The top article is the one from Rolling Stone magazine dated July 2, 1987. The following two articles are from 1988. You accidently posted these all together, so the dates were all mixed up under one heading.

Have also highlighted these in the above post in bold so you can see for yourself.

Just an observation, hope that helps, thanks etc. mr.green
