Albums & corresponding tours

Could someone break down which tour corresponds to which album...(I am trying to organize my "live" recordings.) wink

here's what I have so far:

Album: Tour
Dirty Mind: Dirty Mind
Controversy: Controversy
1999: 1999
Purple Rain: Purple Rain
Parade: Hit & Run 86 & Parade/UTCM
SOTT: SOTT
Lovesexy: Lovesexy
D&P: D&P
Gold Experience: Gold Experience
NPS: NPS
TRC/ONA: One Nite Alone
Musicology: Musicology

(I think) those are pretty obvious (please correct me if I have mistakes); but what albums did the following tours go with?

Nude
Act I
Act II
Hit & Run 94
L4OA
Jam of the Year--was this Emancipation?
Hit & Run 00--was this Rave or NPGMC launch?

Thanks!!

Yeah, you pretty much got it spot on sovembol.

The Nude tour was a best of tour, before GB and after Batman, it was a money thing, taking advantage of the strong markets in Europe and Japan, not really promoting any particular album.

Act I was the USA prince tour

Act II was a continuation of Act I, but by this time, Prince had decided to change his name, and billed it as a hits show, the "last chance" to see the hits. Readers of Controversy magazine in the UK got to pick tracks for the show (the prince tracks were already a part of it) - hence the inclusion of stuff like The Beautiful Ones and Sometimes It Snows (this was my first Prince gig, it was great seeing all the hits because I'd only been into him a year or two when the Hits came out and everything, it was a great introduction - I digress).

Hit & Run '94 - Uhm, these are the Glam Slam shows? Not any release promoted.

L4OA - The PP shows of 95? No release promoted, sounded like brilliant shows the, the setlists were amazing, love these boots!

Ultimate Live Experience - Playing the Gold Experience stuff, pre-release, very exciting, but turned off A LOT of casual fans who didn't know the stuff they were playing.

JOTY - Was billed as a world tour, on the back of Emancipation, but when EMI kealed over, it turned into a greatest hits show.

The '98 tour - NPS / GCS2000 / Come 2 My House

ONA - I'd say this was a show "promoting" TRC, at least it played a large chunk of the album, along with lesser hits and such - a lot like the '95 Gold tour IMO, and another of my favourites.

This was originally called "The Jam Of The Year" World Tour 98/99, before the 1999 dates got cancelled... (They still managed to sell the merchandise for the tour though...)
