The A-sides too, other than Kiss.

Well, there were only 2 (Love Or money & Alexa De Paris),
and no, there is no particular reason why they were excluded,
they just didn't make the grade, that's all.

If there's no specific reason (like that of the Batman singles for example), then a fair assumption would be:

- Alexa de Paris is an instrumental
- Love or $ is very much a repetitive jam

And the a-sides weren't comparative big hitters in the USA, only Kiss, often in general media reviews of the album, like Lovesexy and Alphabet St. it is just this lead hit single that is singled out as the lone stand-out track.

My 2 cents.

They also left out the b-sides from Graffiti Bridge like love left, love right, get off and the lubricated lady and the symbol ones, 2 whom it may concern and call the law but included all the Batman ones.

Just another example why the hits package is so lacking. I never understood why the Batman B-Sides are on there but not Batdance. Plus the edits and cuts were sacriligious. Love or Money is a great, underrated jam. This all goes back to Alan Leeds points regarding the treatment of his catalog by Warner Brothers. Prince fans are album and completist collectors that did not need the hits radio edits!

Prince had an input into the Hits package.

Well a B-sides collection was mostly unnecessary for the Prince completist who really should've had them all by then.

The omission of Parade b-sides was criminal, especially considering the inclusion of "200 Balloons" since this track was widely available on the CD maxi-single "Batdance." What was the point of including it at the exclusion of the other two? The Parade b-sides were not available on CD (I know "Alexa de Paris" did crop up on a maxi of "Letitgo", but "Love or Money" is still missing.)

The 'Hits' package is inadequate.

For me the best part of the Hits package wasn't the hits but the b-sides and peach, pope, and pink cashmere. Case in point I don't own the very best of prince only for the fact I have all that stuff already.

As far as I know Possessed was never released anywhere except as background noise on the Purple Rain movie.

First to confirm this wins an invisible Prince fan certificate.

New dance wins the prize without answering. Haven't seen that video in decades. I have half of it in the attic, I remember Posessed being on it as well as a mighty version of Irresistable Bitch.

Depends in which country and also plenty that actually are on the package would fall into the same category you mentioned.
