Prince's career without the Warner problems one can't help but wonder how different Prince's career would have been had it not been for the problems with Warner Bros...at the time Prince was doing pretty well at the start of the 90's he had a hit album with Diamonds & Pearls with 4 hit singles..the symbol album went platinum and had a few hits on it..and could you imagine the impact The Gold Experience would have had if it were released on time with a full backing from Prince and Warner? sure things happen for a reason but sometimes i wonder what kind of music we would have gotten from Prince if his career would have taken that path instead of the one it ended up taking Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

I wonder moreso what it would've been like had he signed a smaller sized contract with less pressure.
It seems that pressure to fulfill the demand for really huge album sales every year inspired crap like selling out to gangster rap, and then Prince's whole hissy fit altogether. It's that damn $100 million contract. You can clearly see he wasn't the same artist afterwards. He started following trends rather than inventing them. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

That sort of depends on when you think he started following trends. A lot of people think D&P was the beginning of the end with it's slathering of rap (if you put stock is such an idea) and that album came BEFORE the "$100 million contract."
