I only wish that Te Amo Corazon would be to 3121 as "When 2 R In " is to the Black Album. A tender moment surrounded by scarified funk.
This is wishful thinking isn't it? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Wouldn't that be wonderful I'm firmly planted in denial

Now that would be great. I hope that will be true. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

This is wishful thinking isn't it? Thank you for providing a bit of history and perspective to this issue (something sorely lacking on these boards). People don't seem to remember that you couldn't tell anything about the sound of "Parade" for example, based on the first single "Kiss".

Listen, I'm hoping because if Te Amo is any indication we're in for a borefest I do like the production on that song. Not too much, just right. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

let's just hope that "Te Amo Corazon" isn't the funkfest of the album
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I'm not concerned at all about the album being full of tender ballads. What I'm concerned about is it being full of meandering ones.
Te Amo Corazon is mediocre because it just never turns into anything. Just as you think it could finally get going, it's over. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I do know that 3121 is not an album of ballads, and Te Amo Corazon is not
representative of the rest of the album. What exactly that means for the sound of the album as a whole I couldn't say, but I would say; expect a higher percentage of funk this time round. [Edited 12/28/05 0:53am]

[Edited 12/28/05 0:53am] ..u're right..it is a "best Of" from the last ten years...not the best years 4 me so far...we can councider it as a Musicology suite.....Not xperimental or pop at all! ...i did not listen from my own some songs from the album...some people i know did....but they shared their impressions about some songs....so what i can add..3121 will be not Bad at all...but don't xpect so much..this one will not be A CLASSIC ONE! [Edited 12/28/05 1:50am] wtf? . [Edited 12/28/05 4:25am] When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Hasn't Prince already said that "Te Amo Corazon" is not representative of what '3121' will sound like?
Honestly, I think "Te Amo" is like an invitation to a party. We'll know if it's jumpin' when we get there.

"Girls and Boys", "New Position", "Anotherloverholenyohead", etc. are OK songs and typical Prince since 1985.....weaker than before 1984 but still good songs. Songs like "Venus De Milo", "Do U Lie", and "Sometimes It Snows In April" are an absolute embarrassment to be even mentioned in the same sentence as the word "Prince" (a man who was previously known for hardcore jams like "Head", Let's Work", Lady Cab Driver", etc.).
