Wouldn't it be cool if Prince started playing some obscure album tracks in concert? Now he's apparently "retired" the hits (which I still won't believe until I read the setlists from the new tour) it'd be cool if he started performing some of those forgotten gems from the 90s.
I don't wanna die without at least once hearing Face Down live! Or Mad Sex for that matter....

Now...he if could play some obscure stuff like alexa de paris or any of the odd cuts from the 82-87 period that would be nice. I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

I'm still holding out hope for a B-Sides and Bootlegs tour, with our boy playing those hot ass tracks from the vault those B-sides from the 80s. That would REALLY introduce the listening and concert-going audience to the genius of Prince AND would make for a nice point of departure for officially releasing (FINALLY) a lot of those bootlegged tracks. P's all about the money, so I hope he does something like this.

Seeing him do 17 Days, Mountain, or Sometimes it Snows in April with Wendy and Lisa would be the icing on the cake for me.

One of the coolest things for me was catching him performing 'The War' at a couple of aftershows back around '98 - because I'm a sucker for his darker, more esoteric stuff. So if I had one choice at all, it would be 'Crystal Ball' - just for the sheer experience of wondering what the hell he'd do with that mutha live. Not that it would ever happen (well, never say never I guess), but one can dream.

The only 90s I want to hear is somebody somebody and also dinner with delores.
Now the eighties would be Why you wanna treat me so bad, I feel for u, sexy dancer, and international lover.

The only 90s material I wanna hear is from the Gold era.
Otherwise, bring the B-Sides and Bootlegs from 85-88, por favor. Ooh, little darlin' if you're
free 4 a couple of hours (Free 4 a couple of hours) If U ain't busy 4 the next 7 years (Next 7 years) Say, let's pretend we're married and go all night

It would be cool if he played some songs he never played before (stuff like "She spoke 2 me" or "5 women" or "Strange But true") Anyway I just hope he doesn´t play the hits for a loong time... PS: Alexa de Paris would be real cool

"Solo" Live would be interesting. Maybe a theatrical presentation. Want to see how the production team visually works out the lower than a curb lyric. The closing act of the play could be "Wedding Feast". Pure Enteeeerrrtainment right there.
Would love to see hear "Brother can ya Paradigm" from g clinton performed solely by prince. One of those 15:00 minute funked the hell out, every band member gets a solo (including the janitor) jams.

Say hello to another sucker for his darker, more esoteric stuff! I'm firmly planted in denial

He has always played some obscure album tracks in concert. I'd say he's only played about 80% of his 90s work live - which doesn't show a great deal of faith in his newer work. I know on the One Nite Alone tour he played a lot of The Rainbow Children which was cool. But an artist like Tori Amos plays all her back catalogue, fan favourites, obscure album tracks, b-sides... the lot.

Well, Tori Amos mostly plays solo-piano tours, doesn't she? That of course includes a lot less rehearsal than Prince teaching his 5+ band the songs.
And even the Musicology Tour included some (rather) obscure songs, with Controvery, DMSR, God, Let's Work...

Controversy and DMSR are hardly my idea of obscure. He's played these tracks loads of times over the years...
Tori Amos also tours with a 3-piece band and she still manages to vary the setlist night after night.

He did play ALL THE CRITICS during the One Nite Alone Tour. I seem to remember him playing a few other obscure tracks too. Green virgin teenager, or filthy rich yuppy. Pussy cat pussy cat, where for out thou puppy

The problem is...when Prince decides to fill a tour with Hits, he tends to forget his latest albums´ songs...and we never get to hear them live...
During 2000 era, he didn´t play most songs of Rave, Chaos and The Vault... In the Musicology tour, he only played few tracks of this one, and on rare occasions. In this respect, I think it was real cool when he played songs that could "never have been released" during 94-95. It´s time to retire the hits, at least for another 5 years
