More bitching. More negativity.

So 'The Rainbow Children's' 'sub-par'? That's why it recieved some of the best reviews of Prince's entire career.

'She Loves Me 4 Me' -'bubblegum'?! To these ears it sounds like a sincere and beautiful song.

Anyway, who cares what a rancid racist like IrishEcho says? If he's that dissatisfied with Prince I fail to comprehend why he contributes to this site so frequently.

Unless of course, this is the only platfrorm in which he can spread his prejudiced, hateful bile.

This is old news, "She Loves Me 4 Me" was released to radio in the US in March. Only three stations added it to rotation.

If it gets airplay, She Loves Me for Me should do fine, but as for a single, instead of annother ballad, how about Vavoom?

Some of you are sooo negative! You are calling this song a "flop" before it even gets the chance to make it on radio.

i think people are just being realistic. radio doesn't care [sadly] about PRINCE anymore. the average radio listenor and target audience is too young to care unless it's a flashy machine produced pop group-- altho that is thankfully changing [slowly]. it would be nice to hear him on radio again, but i just don't see that happening anytime soon.

Obviously, you care enough to respond.

Whether or not TRC has been well-reviewed, it' gone nowhere. Dispute that. Considering that, releasing this dismissable ballad as a single is entirely pointless.

Wash your ears out - you don't have to worry about waterlogging your absent brain.

But why wait till now? the album has been out for 7 months!
and you know Prince has a short attention span,he is likely
on to his next project.I love him,but does every single move
he makes have to be so difficult?

Its painfully obvious that you need to do some home work on our former president. "Racist?" damn right! The title was given for more than just a quote but the position the man held in regards to African slaves as people. As far as releasing this as a single I am neither for it or against it. I feel as though Prince has and still is making his mark in music and that he doesn't need radio at this stage of the game. But knowing how much I love his music it would be really cool hearing something new coming over the air waves.

Uhhh...we must have been reading different reviews...While some critics recieved it well, others werent to kind and the album was definetly not one of his best reviewed...

I say release \Family Name/ funky and will get people thinking or upset...
Although I think the "word on the street" reference is weak and probably not true.

Radio is a joke. If Prince pays to have it played they will play it. I heard Vavoom & Super Cute here in the twin cities but they played it once and that was it, because radio stations will only play their payed rotations. I look at it like commercials, you pay for the spot...makes sense I guess

Well, I'm happy that it's going to get more airplay on the radio. It's a beautiful song, and it's cool that others will hear it that aren't "watching" Prince's career. But, I doubt that this single will bring new people to the NPG Music Club. In order to do that, I think he should start off with a single that is funky and catchy. Something that will make people want to listen to it when it comes on - something that will make them want to hear more. That's my opinion.

"She Loves Me 4 Me" might be released to radio, huh? Wonderful! Hey Prince... if you go that route... Put "1+1+1 Is 3" as the b-side and maybe "Pearls B4 The Swine" as a bonus track...

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but where did this info come from? "Word on the street" is pretty vague, and I kinda doubt Prince would start promoting an album 9 months after it's release. Everyone knows Prince doesn't stay interested in any project for long. No doubt he's already focused on his next endeavor.

Not to diss you, DMSR, but I wouldn't hold my breath for this to happen.

I was sorta hoping for a new album entitled "Xenophobia." A single would be nice, if only remind people every once in a while that Prince lives...

Sure it was. It appeared to me that about 70-75% of the reviews were very positive.

'She loves me for me' is a catchy song and probably one that many people would be singing along to if it were given enough airplay. we all know this probably won't happen, I would love to turn the radio on and hear a new Prince song being played instead of something he did 15 years ago.
But sadly today a song also has to catch your eye in the form of a video being fed to you via the tv every hour, then it seems people start to catch on to the song, it is like some kind of mass brainwashing.
Do we want Prince to go there?

That's great. Because I really like that song that's my favorite song off that CD. I replayed that song soo much so I could learn the lyrics. It sounds like he's talking about Mani do you think? It also sounds like he's dissing Mayte for not loving him for him. But I hope that's not true even though he's with Mani now, him and Mayte were a beautiful couple compared to what she's with now!rolleyes

dont be lured in & fooled by 'outside' things ... wink She loves me 4 me is ‘good’ whoever the inspiration came from ... but if u r gonna pick a ballad dont pick the doozy ... 2 me mellow is far more yielding & ‘demand’ worthy biggrin Otherwise i want some hype ... calling all funky jams!!! We gotta get down people :p Hey wait ... but just as others pointed out, isnt it about time 4 him 2 do a new project?? He always does things opposite from what i would do or want ... so huh
Got Gackt??! wildsign thumbs up!

I know this to be a FACT. It's being worked at radio very soon. I think it is the most commercial song, and yes I was surprised they waited this long, maybe it will be on a new compilation? Best of?

IF you're so sure of yourself, would you mind telling us exactly how Prince, after years of being virtually ignored by both Mtv & radio is suddenly going to emerge once again? While it may be the most commercial song, it's sub par from an album of sub par material & is destined to go nowhere.

I am not sure it will be ahit, I know for a FACT it is being worked to radio as a single. It actually becoming a hit is another story.
