a little after the movie purplerain came out he got beat up real bad and they pulled his hair out that's why in the america video he had the bandanna on then he pulled it off for the surprise.

When I was in third grade, one of my classmates told me that Prince had AIDS. This was around the time of Purple Rain when there was a lot less resarch and info available about the disease. I didn't believe it, but still wondered if the rumor were true.

I also heard that Prince had tried to hang himself and that he wore the scarf around his neck in the bathtub scenes of the When Doves Cry video to cover the rope marks left on his neck.

Not quite as good as the MJ chimp rumor, but I wonder if anyone else remembers hearing the AIDS and attempted suicide rumors back in the day.
