Live @ Aladdin DVD, Any Good? Should I Get It?

I love Prince's live stuff. Instrumentals, Personality, etc. Is this one Good?
How does it compare to Rave DVD?

Hell yeah, I don't ever listen to the rainbow or nikka costa junk but where he plays his hits revamped for the setting it's him at his peak. Best performances i've ever seen from anyone bar none.

If extremely poor picture quality and extremely poor edititing doesn't bother you go for it. It's basically a good bootleg although if it were a bootleg I would be asking what in the hell happened to the other 90 minuts of the show.

It's better than Rave

It doesn't capture the One Nite Alone tour's feel at all as there is no piano segment and the tracklisting is unusual. As a stand alone performance it's good. The picture quality isn't amazing but it's definitely watchable.

All in all it's a fun DVD and I recommend it

1+1+1=3 is a highlight as is The Work and Whole Lotta Love

It sucks if you went to the actual show or the tour...or if you have seen any other prince shows pre 1990...But if u are in the (can only get officially released material) zone its decent...2 out of 5 stars

It sucks. I went to the ONA shows and they were awesome, this dvd does the show NO justice and even the great Sheila E seemed flat.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Worth it for the mesmerising performance of 'Gotta Broken Heart Again' & his duet with Nikka Costa, not much else to redeem it really. SUCH a wasted opportunity to showcase what's undoubtedly one of Prince's greatest tours, which is a real shame. 5 out of 10

It has the best rendition of "Pop Life" in my opinion and an awsome performance of "Gotta Broken Heart Again." I would buy it. The best parts are the beginning and towards the end, meaning from "Gotta Broken Heart Again" and the songs after that.

It's WAY better than Rave, which is weird because Rave has much better material. But the fact that it's an actual concert makes it much more exciting.

I also think the setlist is funner than the ONA Live cd.

I turned a lady at my work onto Prince with this DVD. I made her a cd of it, and she listened to it in her car for months.

But we all know Prince could do SOOOOO much better with another DVD.

It's awful. It's edited so, so poorly, like a shoddy bootleg. I know the tour was awesome, but I'd think it was a snoozefest judging from this DVD.

Bottom Line: See for yourself. The folks who don't like it, you might love ir or visa versa. I love it myself, because as usual Prince puts it down LIVE. First off, see if you can rent it at a video store first, then you can determine whether you want to own it or not.
