What or who and where is the SAME DECEMBER??? Anyone care to explain?

yeah, i've wondered about that too. perhaps it's just a reference
to Christ who was allegedly born in december.

I agree luv4all. Maybe it's because most people think of December as a spiritual time (mindset). It references a starting point with a creator. Even though humans have strong differing viewpoints on religion, we should remember that we all came from the same place and will return from whence we came.

We came from the "Same December". Our similarities are greater than our differneces.

Whatever our apparent differences, we all emanate from the same basics and we all face the same fundamental choice regarding our future.

I think December is simply used as a metaphor, and for some the month has specific significance, as has been pointed out already.

This is such an excellent song, and please don't even get me started on the breakdown at 2:00. Starts out in such a different way than it ends at 2:52....

I haven't listened to this album in a few years and just rediscovered it and it is surely one of his best albums and one of my faves. There's nothing throwaway about it

It IS an awesome song, simple yet deep, and SOOOOO TRUE!
