"Wonderful Ass" Can anybody tell when, approximately, this bootled was made? And what about "If I Love U Tonite" (Lisa version)?
Thanx | |

"Wonderful Ass" was recorded in 1986, I think. I don't have DMSR nearby.
There is no Lisa version of "I Love You Tonight", it's Gayle Chapman (right?). That one is from '80.

Wonderful Ass is from 1983, IIRC. And I'm very sure IRC.

Fantastic song, BTW! I also like the extended version where the instruments come in one after another.
Too bad this particular song has zero chance to be released (at the moment).

Wonderful Ass was recorded in 1983 and then re-recorded in 1986 for one of those aborted projects (Crystal Ball maybe )

To be correct (if The Vault is the gospel) it's 1979. It's from The Rebels sessions. Then there's Prince's demo version from 1987, the one that Mica Paris based her version on in 1991. Two different remixes of this song excist. Also, Prince recorded a never released version with Mayte in 1993.

So there is one released and one unreleased Mayte versions?

Yes. Sorry. It actually MADE that rather lame Mayte album, didn't it. Poor girl. Can dance, can't sing.

Really? You're not confusing this with "Witness 4 the Prosecution"? No, he´s right, there are two versions, one is three years older but they sound very similar. As far as I can hear, the only difference is the "The Revolution will be heard !" phrase towards the end. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Yes. Sorry. It actually MADE that rather lame Mayte album, didn't it. Poor girl. Can dance, can't sing. OK, the Mayte album wasn´t really the greatest protege project ever BUT songs like However Much U Want, Ain´t No Place Like U, In Your Gracious Name and If I Love U Tonite are cool songs and deserved better than getting lost in the wilderness of that era. I mean, that´s four good songs, not that bad when you think about in in terms of "good songs per album" ratio. One day he should revisit all those lost gems in one way or another, maybe rerelease them sung by himself. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs!
