TTB is good, the movie on the other hand...

And the backdrop to GB looked sooo real...i could've finger painted a better horizon in the background.
I actually thought the movie was cute, but it lasted about a day.

Actually,I think his "Thieves In The Temple" outfit might be the "gayest" outfit he ever wore.I cringe at the scene where he is carrying a passed-out Aura to his house,while wearing that absurd outfit.

I'm in California, and the movie just started half an hour ago.

This is my first time watching it. The sound quality is terrible so I can't hear half of the things that are being said.

It's kind of stupid, but it's worth it to see Prince with a white stripe across his face, dancing around!

I never liked his choice 4 the female lead (Olga), she never did it 4 me. Morris and the Time looked good, Prince looked good 2. Check out little Tevin Campbell!!!

This movie needs 2 b on DVD as well as UTCM; just 2 add 2 my collection...I doubt they'll ever get out of the shrink wrap tho.

Yeah the last scene was bizarre, but so was the rest of the movie. Tevin Cambell was so cute. The female lead is a horrible actress. Morris Day is probably my favorite part of the movie, well that and Prince's performance scenes.

You know,I was watching this movie today on VH-1.Out of all the particpants in the film,it is Jill Jones' character who gets the raw deal,imo.She is supposed to be Prince's "girlfriend",but he quickly loses interest in her and starts chasing after Aura.So,what does she do? She goes to work at Morris' club and is given the chance to perform a song with The Time.Her "performance" consists of stripping to a bikini and singing ONE LINE from the song "Love Machine",while Aura gets to sing the rest of the song with Morris and Jerome.Every other character in the movie gets to perform at least one full song.In addition,Jill is just lip-syncing to "Love Machine",since the female vocal in that song is really done by Elisa Fiorillo.

I heard that,when she saw the final script,she was so pissed that she rarely even spoke to Prince during filming.I can't blame her:)

I watched the Movie and it was a complete surprise,i didn't know it was going to be on there until i fliped the channel:)

it was boring. prince looked good. the women were ugly. the morris guy ( u know the one who wears yellow) acted good and was kind of sexy.

Prince's hair was the best thing about the whole movie! That was the first time I saw it. I can kinda see why alotta people think it was horrible. I think Prince should have let the whole Purple Rain deal out of it. But it was his vision as strange as it was it was his vision.

Clearly, 1 of the worst movies ever made. Most of the musical performances were good- even though I liked only 4 songs on the whole album- but that wasn't enough to save this movie. It was hard to follow, most of the dialogue was..
I can't even describe it.


I remember seeing this movie when it came out..
being in the cinema & getting a headache, trying to watch (& follow) this movie. I really wanted to leave, but the part of me that paid $7. to see this bomb forced the rest of me to stay through to the implausible end.


The 2 "highlights" of this movie for me were:

1. JJ stepping out of her draws as she disses "The Kid"

2. That scene when, as the fellas are leaving the club, Morris recites the alphabet & then urinates on a plant when he gets to the letter "p"..
(& then, doesn't Jerome light a match which SETS THE PLANT ON FIRE? Damn! That grain alcohol will do that every time!)

In fact, that was probably the best thing about GB:
it reunited the
ORIGINAL
Time lineup 1 more time..

sigh..



While we're on the subject of VH-1..

WHY THE HELL DO THEY SHOW MOVIES LIKE GB ON VH-1 WHEN THEY KNOW THEY HAVE TO EDIT OUT MOST OF THE CUSSIN' & NUDE SCENES! THAT IS SO STUPID & ANNOYING.

A few weeks ago, they showed "Showgirls"..
& that was a TOTAL joke:
all the nudity & sex & cussin' in that movie?
WHY
did they even bother?
in 1 "audition scene" Elizabeth Berkley was on the stage, topless.. & VH-1 superimposes some sort of blue blotch ("bikini top"?) over her chest..
It was SO STUPID!!!

EITHER SHOW THE WHOLE MOVIE-
OBSCENE LANGUAGE, NUDITY & ALL-
OR KEEP IT OFF THE AIR.


Now that I've gotten THAT off my chest..
the next logical question might well be:

which movie was worse-
GB or Showgirls???

Maybe a race too close to call!
