Do you Know what makes me mad about o(+>

I ain't tryin' to complain about prince or nothing, but I watched the Oprah episode with P in it and he said he did not want to come to her studio being he is shy about talking in front of large crowds

Now if he is afraid to talk in front of large crowds but not afraid to perform
in front of even larger crowds why does this not makes sense to me?

Anxiety

i completely understand.

as someone who's had to speak in front of small groups and perform in front of large audiences in the past, i can say that it's much easier performing my own art in front of a big blob of people who mainly register to me as one big mass rather than a sea of faces....big audiences are more like a big noisy THING than a bunch of people to me...and there's really nothing like it when they give enthusiastic applause.

having to speak in front of a smaller group is nervewracking because there's a feeling that you need to produce something - say something clever or intelligent - and if you're a performer, you can't turn that part of your brain off that wants to present something fantastic when you're on a stage...it's just a total stressy headcake all around.

i can relate -- i feel completely comfortable in front of large crowds when it's something i know and do (and if that's the reason people came) but when people want to analyze or critique me... or just stare at me (i like feedback not silence) because i'm just one of many who happen to be on the roster and they didn't really come to see me... then yeah, i start to get real uncomfortable... not to mention when the television reporters come... you have no idea what questions they'll ask and how they'll edit the final product... i can totally relate to prince when it comes to interviews... though, it's cool that he has seemingly become more comfortable with them in recent years... much respect

Not Hard to UNDERSTAND at all. Onstage you can be One Way Off Another. One to One sometimes INTIMIDATING. The Thrill from the STAGE and the LOVE is ENORMOUS.. It's also Fantasy and PERFORMING.....It's TOTALLY DIFFERENT....
