June 25th in Prince History - 1984 Release of Purple Rain Album For one day only I will take on the booyah mantle!
Probably (with hindsight) the most significant day in Prince history. Purple Rain was his most commercial and successful album to date. I read somewhere this morning that it sold 1.3 million copies on this day alone which was (and maybe still is) a record. So there you have it June 25th, Prince went stellar. Just somewhere in the middle,

I guess I celebrated yesterday. I saw 'Purple Rain' and 'Under the Cherrymoon' back to back, once again...Happy purple day!

Thanks KeithyT - you saved me the trouble.
Hopefully there is someone else taking over these threads while I'm away - I'll see how often I can get back here.
