i'm presuming as the cd only came out 3 days ago cd single sales aren't included. bah - if they synchronised 'em then it might have been higher. i wonder then, as it never got higher than 86 or something on iTunes, if it did much much better on other platforms - or if the npgmc submitted their own sales numbers!

#26? That's actually not very good. Even "S.S.T." managed to enter the Sales Chart at number 8. This chart only tracks physical CD single sales. Even selling just about 900 copies is enough to get you into the top 20 of this chart. That's how insignificant sales of physical CD singles are these days. So "Te Amo Corazon" likely sold only a few hundred copies. It would be nice if this song had taken off, but I don't see it happening. If he really wants to get any commercial momentum going he may want to start thinking about an uptempo second single before "3121" comes out.
Whether you love this song or hate it, it was a poor choice for first single.

How is that possible when the CD single only started selling THIS week, on Tuesday?

Whether you love this song or hate it, it was a poor choice for first single. On the other hand, it was awfully early to release a first single and I don't think that they thought it would explode on the charts. It sounds more like a teaser and the song meant to really work as a "first single" will come out a month or so before the album. Sometimes I think Prince released this Te Amo because he had planned to do something on the 13 of december. Maybe it was even the original date for the album's release. In any case, we'll just have to wait and see.

This song was not a poor choice for a first single. Geez, get over yourself.
I know it's cold comfort to those who hate this song, but it might have been the best choice for a first single. Until we hear the whole CD, we won't know. And it seems I'm not the only one confused by these charts. But calling the song a flop after just a few days release did seem a bit premature.
