I listen to Prince, Maxwell, Lenny Kravitz and others. I don't watch mtv or listen to the radio so i don't know if they are very popular. People hear often talk about if they are popular or not. What are your thoughts?

It would be nice to see Prince on TV again ... radio still plays his PLAYED-2-DEATH releases every once in a while.
However, as someone who also rarely listens to radio or watches MTV, I nonetheless have been finding some interesting artists via the Internet (although recording companies are slowly trying to shut even THAT competition down) ... and, I'm not even talking about downloads ... just doing a bit of research.
It would be nice if everyone steered clear of both, radio and MTV, to send them a message; but, we know teenagers are running the game ... and, I can't even be mad at that as much anymore after watching "Beat Street" today. We had our STANK music too. Just continue 2 do the work. Good music/artists are out there. Find them, and support the art. ONE

A lot of people that I know, do not know who Maxwell is. I have to hip them to a lot of artists that I dig. There are a lot of people still thinking that 'American Woman' has been the last thing Lenny had put out. Ain't that a blip?
