Lynden's cool... sexy cinderella played a major part in my life in 1999. Stephen Simmonds debut is excellent. I've also just ordered an album by Ms Dynamite who is the UK's equivalent to Lauryn Hill, and everyones going mad about her over here.

Sounds great! But this album can only be bought through this website, right?

I got mine online. I simply haven't been to the "brick & mortars" for cds. I recommend www.thefunkstore.com. They can work with ya, even if you are lacking in the plastic area.
Tell 'em CMT sent ya.

"Ladies And Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space" by Spiritualized.

I just don't know where to begin in describing this album. Nep2nes, here's a deal: Buy this album and if after 5 focused listens you are anything less than awestruck I will send you the money back. Serious!! You have to get this album!

Most people laugh at me when I tell them this, but you MUST purchase Sinead O'connor's "Faith and Courage". It is by far my favorite album of all time.

I have given this album to several people and they have all loved it.

It is the most honest, heart-wrenching, and empowering album I have ever heard.

I don't know you very well Neps, but I'm quite convinced that you will love it.

Trust me... big grin

You'll have a good time with Tom Waits. Try "Rain Dogs" for starters.

"Blue" by Joni Mitchell. Classic late-nite feelin' beautiful and sorry for yourself music.

How about "Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush? I've always considered Kate to be a sort of female Prince in some ways... Very loopy passionate stuff... Certainly she was following the beat of her own Linn drum on this album, it's great!

Oh, do please try some Bob Dylan. I'd recommend the fantastic "Bringing It All Back Home" to begin with (Note: this album is often available under the title "Subterranean Homesick Blues").

Get Tony Toni Tone, their greatest hits thing should be good enough.

or Mint Condition!

Or Raphael Saddiq's (ex lead for Tony Toni Tone) new solo album. I like it.

Rufus Wainwright's "Poses" (rereleased 2002). His version of "Across the Universe" is exquisite and the whole record is such a complete piece of art. Songwriting at it's best.

Music Lovers, check out America's 30 year old treasure. No, not Areosmith. Los Lobos. Here are 2 songs off their 1987 release, "By the Light of the Moon"

River of Fools
(David Hidalgo/Louie Pérez)

Memories of a lonely past
A boat set into the wind
Drifting lost in waters of doubt
On a journey that has no end

Torn and faded photographs
A chestful of old goodbyes
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

A trio of angels holding candles of light
Guide the ship to an unknown shore
Sad soul riders with arms drawn tight
As they stopped for just one more

Fingers pointed to a star in the sky
A message from someone they can't see
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

Traveling along a cloudy path
With a wing, a heart, and a prayer
Pieces fall from the heavens above
To a place they know not where

A string of beads in trembling hands
Heading close to the judgement day
Tear streaked faces by the light of the moon
Here on a river of fools
Here on a river of fools

Tears of God
(David Hidalgo/Louie Pérez)

When it's up to you
To figure out what's right and wrong
It's someone else's parade
And yours is an unhappy song

When it hurts so bad
And you feel that you can't go on
Each day go by too fast
And the nights are so very long

You'll find out true
What mother said to you
That tears of god will show you the way
The way to turn

When your only escape
Is a cheap nickel wine
And the peace you need in your heart
Is so very hard to find

It's a stubborn life we lead
And there's never no rest
Trouble's out there looking for you
Even when you try your best

You'll find out true
What mother said to you
That tears of god will show you the way
The way to turn

Hide not your head
The way to turn
Hear what he once said
He'll show you the way
For there is a world for you and me
Where the blind too can see
Through the tears of god

The son of the maker said
This is my cross to bear
Taking off of our shoulders
Something we should have shared

You'll find out true
What mother said to you
That tears of god will show you the way
The way to turn

You can not go wrong with any of their 13 releases. Yes, they are more than just "La Bamba."
Coming to your part of the USA this summer after Xeno.
