Prince interview on VH1 Soul (Thanks to Madison at NPGMC for the transcript):
VH1 SOUL 10:30 AM PACIFIC
VH1 NEWS: When Prince decides to make a video he can pretty much pick any highly sought director he wants. So smokin' hot actress Selma Hayek was surprised when he called her to direct the video for his new single "Te Amo Corazon"...translation "I Love You Sweetheart". SELMA: It's just that it's so strange that I get this job, ya know. I've never really done it before and the first time I do a video...it's for Prince! PRINCE: We were friends first and ah, when she would describe the music that she liked or movies that she liked. I'd always notice that she'd dance around and do different things like that. So once she heard the song, I thought she'd be perfect. VH1: Selma chose to shoot in Marakesh, Morooco and she hired her best friend actress Mia Miastro as Prince's love interest. MIA: We were saying, (with Selma) It was like ok, like this is the coolest moment of our lives. It can't get better than this. VH1: Selma said Prince gave her complete control but during the video's pool scene he was reluctant to take direction. SELMA: I had to convince him to get in that water. PRINCE: (laughing to himself) Well she dived into the pool fully dressed and it was...freezing cold and.. ah, I've been known to make people dive into pools when it has been freezing cold so I thought I might as well go for it. SELMA: I'm bossy, but I'm very clear on exactly what I want. No one else in the world but Mia probably knew I could do something like this, but she knew it. PRINCE: and she did a great job. this was sooooo cute! i love that part in the vid, it woulda been hot to actually be on set when this part was filmed and then see him rise up out the water all wet with his shirt and pants stuck to his body with his hair all wild  Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
