If I Love U 2 Night - Various Version I just came across a version of this song which IS NOT Mica Paris or Prince singing it; but someone else. Kinda sounds like a busted up Roberta Flack. Anyone know who this is? It sounds like a much earlier version maybe from late 70's early 80's? My name is Prince and I want your money

Gayle Chapman - 1979 . And what a version it is!! I love this version, and even though Gayle wasn't the best singer, this performance could easily fit on to those Quiet Storm programs that play the slow, soulful stuff of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It would've been the best ballad on "Prince" if released on that album. Yes, even better than "It's Gonna Be Lonely", though their arrangements are extremely similar.

This is one of the tracks from The Rebels sessions back in 1979. Gayle sings on this song as well as "Turn Me On". Don't hate me 'cause I'm NOT beautiful
