Prince-The Album Been relistening to this a lot lately and am still amazed at how accomplished it is for a 21 year old. It goes past talent, I'm speaking of saave and intelligence in terms of knowing how to put together a great song and a great album. Very commercial and not only that, it gives a great glimpse of all the future things to come. The femininity, the rock, the funk, the etc,,. the jazzy piano solos so on and so forth. We get it all in a sample form throughout the album. For You has never been a favorite and didn't even hint at what was to come, Prince is the blooming of genius.

It's one of my favorites, and to me it's probably his most underrated. Whenever I listen to it, I'm always amazed at how incredible Prince was at such a young age. That's the Prince that captured my heart! Long before mainstream took notice of him, I definately knew he was something special! Prince the album introduced me to Prince the legend to be! Whenever I've had my fill of the negativity that floats around here from time to time, I play it, and it always delightfully reminds me of why I love Prince!

Prince album? I love EVERY SINGLE song on this album! Your right it is very commercial and poppy! I know Dirty Mind and Contoversy were instrumental in establishing Prince as a cutting edge rock star but this album is perfection. The songs blow me away. and yes considering how young he was at the time? Wow. Just Wow! [Edited 12/17/05 21:57pm]

what can i say about this project that hasn't already been said ? well, how about this ? i was 3 or 4 years old when i had mommy buy this album for me. the reason i begged for it ? spooky as shit, y'all. a month earlier, i walked in2 my cousin Anita's room, and with you had just ended. next thang i know, my ass is being kicked by the intro 2 bambi. oh, she wanted 2 move the needle, but i tackled her ass at that moment, i became a prince fan 4 life. who knew one guy could do all that, and then some ?

Great story! The album is so strong, I've listened to it about 30 times in the past month, there is very little filler on this song. Bambi was a fantastic heavy metal tune sung in falsetto. I Feel For You is a terrific song that would become a hit for Chaka Khan a few years later and I'd have a hard time picking one song over another on this one. You know an album is great when there are several cuts on it better than the hit!
