I get the impression that he's not sure about what his REAL argument is.

Like the issue of marriage. Lots of my friends say they are NEVER going to get married. But sometimes it's because of a fear that it would fail. So they make out they were never bothered in the first place.

Then lo and behold you do meet someone who you feel confident enough to marry so it looks like you are doing a big u-turn and contradicting yourself.

We often change our minds at different stages of our lives. (Well I KNOW I contradict myself ALL the time).

I say I don't care what people think about me but then get annoyed if someone disagrees with me.
