Prince has been wearing wigs, weaves and other elements of "augmentation" for years -- at least since Graffiti Bridge (his weave is fairly obvious on the Thieves in the Temple cover, for example).

As can be expected, his hair is thinning. He's not near bald, though.

The reason I say this is that you can see that the part is quite wide. When you're younger and/or have thick hair, you don't see that much scalp in a part. I've noticed this in myself as well (sadly)!

I didn't realize he was wearing tracks in the 80s, but I was marvelling at how thick and beautiful his hair was. Esp. the Lovesexy tour.

I don't care if he wears weaves, wigs, hats, or anything else he wants if he's not happy with his real hair. Hell, whatever it takes to look good and never look old. I plan on doing the same thing whenever my time comes. Look at Little Richard. That whore is as old as Moses and still looks great and is full of spunk. Everyone should grow old like that. Fight growing old with all the ammunition you can.

OK young 'un's, here's how it is when you get old(er). I'm just about to turn 47, so I'm about 8 months younger than Prince. When you get older, even if you don't have male-pattern baldness, your hairline still recedes a little.

My hair is still as thick as ever (but grayer). I'm not going bald and never will. But when my hairline receded a little, it DID change the way my hair combed. I had cowlicks in new places. Nothing big, but when I let my hair grow out, it doesn't lay like it used to.

I'm white, but I imagine any male of any race that has a full head of hair is going to have a little receding of the hairline after he hits 40. And that will change the way you wear your hair.

FYI: YOUR OWN HAIR HAS TO BE GROWN TO A CERTAIN LEGNTH IN ORDER TO GET A WEAVE
