Yeah, he's gonna play all his worst songs instead... Every tour he plays SOME hits. And even on the 'hits' tour of 2004 he played non-hits. What I think is interesting is that Prince rarely tours with the current album being the focus of the music. For instance, the One Night Alone tour was more The Rainbow Children tour. On the Musicology tour, he only played one or 2 tracks from that album it per night.

The Musicology tour was a U.S. tour. I think this next go-'round will be Europe, Japan and Australia.
Just my I'm firmly planted in denial

1. I hope the NYC leg is not scheduled the one weekend I already have plans to be out of town.
2. I don't really care if this Ta'mar girl opens for him...I would rather just have Prince, Prince, & more Prince. (Once I had to listen to the Fonky Baldheads & Millenia b/f Prince. That SUCKED. ) 3. I would however like to see Sheila E! 4. I hope my membership to the NPGMC pays off with some KICK ASS seats & info about the Aftershows, 'cause lord knows it's not good for much else. 5. I hope he brings the FUNK! The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

If you consider all the tours Prince has done post Emancipation release / 1997 era, I reckon he has played several hundred shows in US,a maximum of 30 shows in Europe, 20 in Asia, and 10 in Australia.
So irrespective of where the tour will commence, it will concentrate on the US market - prince will not ignore a market that can generate $90M per tour. My bet is he'll commence in US as always and I'm saving my dosh now for a flight to an East Coast show. Non US fans got badly done with Musicology - it was billed as "world" tour and took in two countries . If they had stated up front it was North America tour only, we'd have gotten over it quicker and tried to get to US. Instead we spent 6 months reading rave reviews and then the plug was pulled. So let's face the statistics - outside USA will not form large part of next tour.

Pretty close - I did a tally using The Vault's list of tours and a site listing Musicology dates, from 97 on I estimate it comes to 199 concerts in the USA and Canada, 38 in Europe, 9 in Japan, 1 in Hong Kong and 5 in Australia. However, this does not include aftershows as seperate, and 1 off non-tour concerts during that period - so actually it is even more, in North America's favour. Certainly the emphasis of the new single is within America at the moment.

Maybe once there is an actual "concert", this is just tour conversation. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

"Speculate about a possible 2006 tour here" might cover it. I'll admit, I clicked on this thread thinking that there was some "official" info about the tour here. The Normal Whores Club
