Pint- sized rocker Prince at Hollywood's Spider Club at 1 a.m. on Nov 12. He took one look at all of the blonde women dancing and huffed to a friend, "Where are all the black people?"

I totally believe it. The US is a multi-culti culture. If you're at a big club and you don't see ANY black people, it's like... what's up with that! I know I think that. There are so many of us, why WOULDN'T we be there, in a big ole disco. This is LA in 2005, y'all.
Come here, babe.. yeah...

The problem is that in the past 20 years or so, we have polarized to the extent where society has nearly auto-segregated. Disco was pan-cultural. Ecveryone danced.
Now we have "white" clubs, "black" clubs, "Latin" clubs, "Korean" clubs, etc., etc., etc...

We need more cross-cultural assimilation. "American" clubs. All invited.

I agreed about clubs should be more integrated but that wont happen as long as many people preferred to be segregated by choice like living neighborhoods, separate churches, social events, etc. It seems like the most integrated place is at the workplace and school and as soon as the shift or the class dismissed , it unravels. These experiences I am seeing where I lives and it is very segregated voluntarily as Jim Crow never left. I awared that LA and New York are mult-culture and all but I cannot speak how it is like since I never lived in those places.

At the risk of sounding completely obvious, I think we are obsessing here.

I mean, someone makes a simple statement and we put it in a cultural, historical context.. trying to break it down,

What would y'all say if someone overheard him say, "I feel like having some ice cream."

Would we start a thread about how many black people are lactose intolerant and it's interesting that he is not, or how does this fit into his vegetarian lifestyle.. isn't he a vegan.. i wonder what flavor he likes.. someone who knows him said that he hates strawberry.....

I mean, come on, guys. I can be guilty of it to sometimes, but I think we'll all stop this craziness once we get Te Amo Corazon and the 3121 album comes out.

I think..

Co-Sign on that DarkKnight1!!!!

Seems to be such a decrease in those kind of people nowadays.
And btw, with regards to comment supposedly said by Prince, I think it was a joke, if he indeed said it, and I have to say that I think it's sad to know that racial issues still occur in the US. VERY VERY SAD INDEED.

Here in Dubai, there are over 133 nationalities living side by side and its all good!
We go clubbing all together, and no one even notices the color issue.
All they ask you is how long you have been living in Dubai cause it's kind of a transit place.....

I don't believe it. What reason would he have to ask such a question? I mean really, what would he do if there were many black woman? It's not like you would walk in the club and see Prince sittin at a corner table with them.

I think Prince could be spotted at a table wherever there was beautiful women present regardless of their heritage. Why do people always think Prince hates black women? As long as they are beautiful Prince is willing I think. I think people just assume that Prince ONLY likes white women just because he has dated them in the past. He can like BOTH white women and black women you know. Just because some people limit themelves to only one race doesn't mean everyone does. Besides Prince has to make room for us sexy latinas in there somewhere!!! sexy

Prince is the MOST UNCONVENTIONAL DUDE AROUND..... Sometimes, I think he just wants People's Reactions. So Many people get Mad at him cause of this Behavior. On top of that he is SECRETIVE and Doesn't Really Like all the NOISE I Think. I just read he went to Stevie's Tribute and they were saying Everyone got up to Perform a Song but NOT HIM and also they said he Didn't Jam. Here goes another gossip tidbit Trying to kinda INFLAME. He is VERY UNCONVENTIONAL. I Seriously Doubt he let's ANYBODY Tell Him What to do. TOTALLY INDEPENDENT DUDE!

I have never thought Prince "hated" black woman. I could care less WHO Prince sits with out in public lol And because he has been with so many woman of different races, I am assuming race don't matter to him. I am only saying, it's not like Prince to spot a black woman on the floor and have interest in her as he would or has in woman say, as in Mayte, Manuella, Carmen Electra etc ..... I do see from the talents he has worked with, that he sure does aknowledge and appreciate the gifted black artist. smile
