Prince says that the new album doesn't sound like the single. I think Prince uses this ruse as a way for the kiddies to fell safer, when buying the album, and then after buying it finding out how sucky the new album will be. I hope I am wrong, but I know this Prince--the prince who got stolen by the JW spaceship.

I have to say that the song broke no new ground outside of him using a little spanish. I wouldn't even waste time downloading it for free. Face it, prince is washed up

This is me cross posting since my comments were not really about the video to begin with:

There is absolutely nothing earthshattering about this song. It's not a When Doves Cry, Kiss, Batdance, Pop Life, Alphabet St, 7 or any other song where PRince made you go 'what the hell was that? That's a new sound and its kinda catchy too...'

The really promising thing is that the song is the simplest he's done in donkey's years. If Prince keeps things simple he may just rediscover his innovator's muse. I believe Prince has been dogged with 'been there done that' boredom over songwriting and that's why songs like 'Greatest Romance'. 'In this Bed I Scream', 'White Mansion', 'Sex in the Summer' all of the Ranbow Children tracks etc which could have been great, are weighed down with a bunch of extra noise that makes them good or ok instead of being uplifted by the innovative twists that would have made them great...

Whoever says Prince has nothing to prove is absolutely right, but it was he who set the bar very high, YOu can't fault those who hope still hold out hope that he may once again hit that bar.

Me I think I'm preachin' now.....
