So what do you think of the new song? Is it what you expected?

All I will say is, it's exactly what I expected. I am NOT suprised. It's Prince, I guess biggrin

Im not here to fuel your Catwoman fire, but I am thusfar, disappointed. I really hope it grows on me.

BTW, the Catwoman movie with Halle Berry is the worst piece of shit movie ever put on film.

I like Prince because he has a song for most occasions you find yourself. If I am ever in Spain drinking a glass of wine and wanting to slow dance, I got this song. I just hope there is an extended version with some yelling or something...like Thieves in The Temple remix. But I do like this song.

No worries, I did not say I was impressed. lol .. As I said, it's what I expected. The song, the sound was to predictable, I don't like that.

But hey, no need to hate on my catwoman mad

It's pretty, and I think it'll sound nice in the context of a good album, but it doesn't really build enough to be a classic, IMO. You keep waiting for him to sing to his love like this life depended on it, but it never really happens.

I just heard the song on Rhapsody and it is MUCH MORE then I expected. I really love the orchestration of the strings and woods. Very reminiscent of the Clare Fischer arrangements from the Parade era. Huummmm 1986-2006, maybe a connection? cloud9 woot!

Aww Man! I was hoping if it was ballad, it'd atleast be
a power ballad with some heavy guitars, screams and/or moans.
(ala The One drool )

But hey! I haven't even heard it yet. Hanging round all the org negativity will make me dislike the friggin song before it even comes on tomorrow
If you will, so will I

With it being a lead single and all, I was expecting some sort of TMBGITW grandnes or something. I was pleasantly suprised by the under-the-radar nature of the song.

Te Amo Corazon is a gorgeously orchestrated sultry brooding latin flavored late 60's R&B styled ballad with a crystal clear production that you would expect to hear in a retro movie about falling in love with a go go dancer in the lounge of an airport before flying to Greece to meet with a tycoon on his yacht about importing furnishings for a Park Avenue apartment for his blond bouffant haired wife and their two childen Maggie and Daniel, but instead our hero and his slanky new fashionable object of desire jet off to Haiti and he photographs her nude on the beach while smoking a cigar before making love to her on the sand by candlelight.

I haven't heard it yet but from the descriptions of the song here on the org, it sounds horrible.

I like the music, the strings are very nice but the
melody is very simple and doesn´t go anywhere...plus
the line the amo corazón is incredibly corny, I mean
we spanish speaking people normally say te quiero not
te amo...Te amo sounds soap operaish ...anyways, I don´t
like this song very much. Hope the album is better

Hey, my thoughts exactly! He don't sing it like he is in love. He just sings it like a "song". confused

Have you ever heard a spanish song of love? They sing it with such passion, deep passion and this song just don't do it. If my love gave me such song, I would be thinking "well, okay" neutral

ok - when i first read the name of the song and compare it now to the song it's what i expected. as others already said, i also hoped of a little more guitar and/or screaming - but as i listen to the song again and again i must admit - i like it - although it reminds me a little on shakira (and other latin music of the near past) - is there still a latin hipe in the charts?

hope the song makes a good performance on the charts - i love to hear prince on radio!

I don't think it's going to last very long on the radio confused
I can't imagine anybody calling in to request it be played. Well, maybe the fanatics neutral .. but NOT real music lovers.

It reminds me of the parade era. The arrangements are not commercial at all. The song (even if the main melody remains catchy) is not that simple. This is a tune you have to listen to quite a few times. Not that easy listening at all.
Il n'y a pas de sentiment plus exaltant que celui d'appartenir à une nation si diverse, si libre et si douée pour le bonheur.

I have to agree to that!! When my husband made me waste purrrrfectly good Friday night seeing the garbage. When we left all I could think of was the fat comic book guy from the Simpsons saying, "WORST MOVIE EVER!!!"

I just heard the song again, and again and again neutral ...

If this is suppose to be Prince 'in love', he is missing something. Just goes to show, you can't mix religion with Prince and put it on paper or an album.

I really like the song's intro, it vaguely sounds familiar . I did listen to it a few times last night.

My honest opinion is I think it's ok. It's nothing to stand up and cheer about, but it definately makes me want to learn Salsa dancing or maybe it's better suited for a Tango...at any rate it makes me want to get my Latin dance on! biggrin
