i agree with you. Aha but would you also agree that there is absolutely nothing earthshattering about this song. It's not a When Doves Cry, Kiss, Batdance, Pop Life, Alphabet St, 7 or any other song where PRince made you go 'what the hell was that? That's a new sound and its kinda catchy too...' The really promising thing is that the song is the simplest he's done in donkey's years. If Prince keeps things simple he may just rediscover his innovator's muse. I really believe Prince has been dogged with 'been there done that' boredom over songwriting and that's why songs like 'Greatest Romance'. 'In this Bed I Scream', 'White Mansion', 'Sex in the Summer' all of the Ranbow Children tracks etc which could have been great, are weighed down with a bunch of extra noise that makes them good or ok instead of being uplifted by the innovative twists that would have made them great... Me I think I'm preachin' now.....

It would be nice if Prince moved the release date of the CD to January and had a "The Making Of I'm On Cortisone" special. Then have his next or current touring band play a mini-concert during the special. That would get people hyped up. Universal and Radio can get behind it but Prince has to promote it also in a timely manner or it will end up like Rave. I think this CD will be more like Diamonds And Pearls in terms of Prince catering a little bit more to the mainstream. Like Richard said on Bicentennial "We will See." Gosh, this is beautiful.
I am sure this is going to be a nice hit for Mr. P, if Universal promotes it right. Beautiful images, nice smooth song, good hook. Great Prince can be commercial in style!

I captured this short VH1 interview piece on the “Te Amo Corazon” video with Prince, Salma and Mia quite by accident on TiVo yesterday.
VH1 News Break (“Te Amo Corazon” video is cut in throughout.) Female Voiceover: When Prince decides to make a video he can pretty much pick any highly sought director he wants, so smoking-hot actress Salma Hayek was surprised when he called her to direct the video for his new single, “Te Amo Corazon” -- translation, “I love you, sweetheart”. Salma: It was so strange that I get this job and, you know, I’ve never done a video before, and then the first time I do a video, it’s from Prince. Prince: We were friends first. When she would describe music that she liked or movies that she liked, I always noticed that she’d dance around the room – different things like that. Once she heard the song I thought she’d be perfect. Female Voiceover: Salma chose to shoot in Marrakech, Morocco and she hired her best friend, Mia Maestro as Prince’s love interest. Mia Maestro: (Beaming with a smile.) We we’re saying with Salma, “Okay, this is the coolest moment of our life! It cannot get better than this.” Female Voiceover: Salma says Prince gave her complete control, but during the video’s pool scene he was reluctant to take direction. Salma: (Quite matter-of-factly and with a great deal of feminine charm in her voice and gestures.) I had to convince him to get in that water. Prince: (Laughing for a couple seconds at the notion of the pool scene being brought up.) Well, she (Mia) dived in the pool fully dressed, and it was freezing cold. And I’ve been known to make people dive into pools that have been freezing cold (interviewer laughs), so I figured I might as well go for it. Salma: I’m Bossy! But I’m very clear. I know exactly what I want. Then Salma says something I can’t quite make out that boils down to having some self doubt entering the project, but that Prince knew (referring to the confidence he had in her to pull it off from the start.) Prince: I think she did a great job! Female Voiceover: Prince’s new album, “3121”, is set to be released in early 2006. For more on Prince go to vh1.com.

Enigmoid said: Well, yet again it's sad that this has been officially revealed before NPGMC. But it's a shame that somebody somewhere in the Prince camp hasn't crossed their Ts and dotted their s. This is somewhat embarrassing for NPGMC I'm sure.
And watching that vid, I'm now convinced that Prince has a fountain of youth at Paisley Park that only he is allowed to drink from. He looks about 32 in that video. he sure does look good and I'm a guy to say that, I hope I look this good in 15 years, but I have my soul patch working, thanks! *Handclaps* *********************************************
I'll believe it when I see it

I think Prince just has a natural ora that attracts people rather he has talent or not. He's simply gorgeous. His talent is the perfect finishing touch.

Let me ask all of you peeps who don't like the song or the video a Q.
What the heck would you have done if you were to follow up Musicology? P has done reggae, soul ballad, jazz, funk, twinge o country (right the wrong), rock, instrumental, suicidal (Solo), etc. What is left to explore? Have not heard a Latin spiced ballad bfore. He ran out of ideas in '92. Diamonds and Pearls was very commercial. Had to be after Bridge movie bomb. Symbol album was a rock opera. He was shooting high. 94-95 the pissed off years. Emancipation was what he wanted. 97-03 was him having fun musically and growing spirituall and personally. Music has changed since his time as a household name (not necessarily for the better). The themes and reasons for doing a song or album have to be there ("what the source of your inspiration be"-Da, Da, Da). He is a great musician and proved that with Musicology album and tour. Real Musicianship was the premise. Hell he made 100 mill with the idea. He has composed, arranged, produced, written and performed on almost every conceivable topic and genre. Think about how hard it must be creatively for any artist to be truly different to themselves. Go ahead, try to draw a different picture with the same colors that is new to you and everyone else. Trying not to sound like I'm defending him just pointing out it ain't easy...To stretch. [Edited 12/23/05 13:14pm]

It's a solid video, but the song is pure vanilla. I really don't care for Prince's latter day obsessions with derivative adult contemporary.
It's funny; back in the day Prince's songs were great, but his videos were usually crap. Now his videos are improving, but the music is boring. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Lord have mercy,
I hope Prince doesnt come here and take the people that dont like the song, seriously. I would venture to say that the ones that dont like it, are the ones that defend the crap of the last 15 years. Its been so sad to see one of my musical heros sucum to jumping on the musical fad of the day, like he did in the 90's. He sounds at ease and in control on this, like he did on all my favs,I love this song, it reminds why i love Prince. Also,Im gald hes growing up finally.

I looooove the video - simple, beautiful. And Prince´s hot in it. And the song is growing on me as well. I like it!! Can´t wait to hear the whole album. I love the feel of this vid, very sultry and sexy. Makes me hot! He digs the Latino feel. Another great creation for your family! Much love.
