My 2cents... The sound, something like the guitar solo in The Everlasting Now, would've sound good in your new song.

i feel you, catwoman. its nice enough, really, but i guess its my own fault for expecting more than "nice." surely someone will come along and say "well, you shouldn't have any expectations, blah blah puke." and i guess i don't. sometimes you like it and sometimes you don't.

there's always "pink cashmere," "adore," or even "the one" if i want a sexy, wonderful, invigorating love song from prince!

what i tried to say is that up until Musicology i just kept hoping for
a relaps into his old kick ass 80's Prince modus and it wasn't until i
was listening to Musicology that i realised he just isn't going to go
that route anymore. and that sucks, it really does.

on the other hand, i still find pleasure in listening to his new cd's.
especially "TRC/XPECTATION/CNOTE/ONENITEALONE PIANO" are all amongst
my fav Prince albums.

that's why Musicology was such a shock again. but i just figured that
prince has now decided for himself that he wants to record music that
he feels really comfortable with. he's obviously trying to create an
entire new body of work to rival his junior efforts. in his new and
somewhat holier than thou mindset he's probably trying to offer some
counter weight to songs that he now considers too dirty or something

on the one hand that's grown up, on the other hand that's schizoid.
so be it. i just like him when he's really mature and not in some
childish way. One Nite Alone piano was sincere. Musicology in many
places, was not and that's why i can't listen to it.

this new song sounds more sincere to me right now. but who knows,
perhaps the album isn't all that. i just hope it will be. as long
as the music sounds HONEST, i'm ok with it, no matter what style
he's chosen or how "elevator" it is lol.

soon as it sounds reaching or fake, i just lose all interest.
