okay after listen #2, i'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic, but while doing something else while listening to the song, it sounds like he is saying...."i'm on cortizone" instead of "te amo corazon".....i swear to you it sounds like he is saying that when you aren't paying attention

Prince production. It's cool and I can't deny genius...but would love to see him just jam with others and let it go. It sounds so produced sometimes, its hard to imagine this song sounding spontaneous. Then you hear the 1st outtake of "Old Friends 4 Sale" then the final Vault version..ohh boy, then I just imagine.
Heck with it, I live for the live shit..and thats why I wanna go see him and hang in there over the years. The live shit is where its at. This guy gets it down too good on the albums sometimes! I still like it cause the options of who else to listen to suck (minus Bowie). | |

I listened to the song and watched the video a few times and the fable of the Emperor parading down the street in his "new clothes" kept coming to mind. I want to believe this is the shit but I think the Emperor, in this instance, is really just naked.

Just saw the video and heard the song. It's cute ...short and sweet.
I must say I am glad it's not a long assed power ballad with a big bombastic ending along the lines of the stuff on Emancipation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OK, I just now saw the video on VH1. It's what I expected....some adult comtemporary bullshit....but it's not as bad as I was expecting it to be. I have heard worse from Prince such as "The One" which is what I was expecting it to be similar to except with a Spanish vibe.
It's what others have described....it's a "pretty" and "beautiful" song....exactly the kind of shit I don't like. I like "hard" and "kick ass" and if it's gonna be a slow song, it needs to be a "nasty" "fuckable" bedroom jam like "Do Me, Baby". I like the first verse. This is the kind of song that goes in and out, like beets out of a babies backside. It is safe and non offensive--not very eclectic, especially since albums lately have been complexity contests. All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

I prefer 'The one', a million times. I've listened four times to 'Te amo corazon' ( I still can't get past the horrible title, what's next 'Ich liebe dich, wienerschitzel'???) and at first I thought it was mediocre, now I think it's horrible.
I mean 'The one' at least has some emotion in it. This one, I dunno, even Prince himself seems bored as hell. I'm not sure whether I will check out the video. I've already had a bad night... | |
