If this is suppose to be Prince 'in love', he is missing something. Just goes to show, you can't mix religion with Prince and put it on paper or an album. Personally, after that whole Mayte/Emancipation lovefest, I don't have to hear Prince "in love", ever again!

If you have windows media player click on the media guide tab
It will take you to a page where the song is being played online. It is boasting to be the premier listen of his new tune. I dont think i like it very much Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Okay, I have had my say .. a few "says"
This is my real opinion about the song. I think the beat, the drums sound to digital, to "on beat". The pronounciation coming from Prince is NOT spanish so I can't get that spanish/latin feeling of passion as I do with other passionate latin artists. I think Julio Englisias could use this song .. I can hear him singing it

Not terrible. But boooooring.

I like it. Enjoyable melody, very mellow and understated - never goes bombastic or over-produced (which Prince has been guilty of a lot in the past).

i don't dislike this song, as it's not terrible.
i don't LOVE this song, as (to me) it's not amazing or original or full of passion, like was the Prince music that made me a fan in the first place. to me this song feels like it's Prince on autopilot...again. it's just - THERE. bland. won't help ya, won't harm ya. in summary, i think fits perfectly while wearing cotton underwear, eating a plate of plain white rice and drinking a big ol glass of milk. with a bowl of vanilla ice cream for dessert. I like it too for the reasons u just stated, but the song isn't really anything special IMO. Someone said it sounds like a Sting track and I have to agree here. It wouldn't make me a Prince fan if it was the first Prince song I had ever heard, but as an album track it is a nice one. Definately no commercial single though, I think it will bomb... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

pluses: nice melody, nice song..i like it. too short, though
minuses: no ying yang twins, david banner or fiddy cent verse reality: no airplay, except maybe smooth jazz format. funny thing is..i don't mind that. i'd rather hear this from him than say, ummm...madonna-- 101: 50 years old and still trying to put out a cd of retro dance tunes. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 6. Not instantly memorable but not in any way repellent. It's a little too safe but it also hints of having some complexities discovered along the way with repeated listenings. I may grow to love it but I also may stay ambivalent. Not sure yet. All good things they say never last...

The start of this song is fantastic, something from "Parade" then it just goes really mellow, which really i don't mind, but this song really needs a kick somewhere, but this has got me even more excited about the new album!!!
Nice lead off, tho its not gonna be a hit! Keenmeister

Are the drums that lightly tapping hip hop drum machine sound that everyone in R&B has been using for years? If so, then Prince needs to shut up talking about the other so-called "artists". Andy is a four letter word.

Ever since "Around The World In A Day" with the exception of mixing current things like hip hop and house. Other than that, the rest of the music has always had an either 1960s or 1970s feel to it. Since he's into retro, it's time for him to start rediscovering the 1980s and pick up where he left off in 1985. Andy is a four letter word.

Well, I just listened to it a couple of times. I have to say it's bland, soulless pap. The production has a few more flourishes than a lot of things he's done recently, but it still sounds plasticky (Casio preset: 'Latin 1'); the lyrics are pedestrian ("I'm so scared of losing you / I really don't know what I'd do", etc); and the performance just sounds so unconvincing - in fact, he almost sounds bored....
Even the idea that it sounds like Sade is misleading - Sade's songs are often quite subtle, but there's always emotion in them and her voice is captivating, plus her lyrics (of her later stuff particularly) are usually really thoughtful, even if they're quite minimalist. He's done mellow stuff that's been really good (And God Created Woman, Soul Sanctuary, etc). This, on the other hand, is just a Standard-Issue Vaguely-Latin Love Song. Hope the album's got more going for it than this! "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

I think it is rare when a new track by Prince has so failed to impress the majority.
I think it is an okay bluesy-ballady-santan-esque album track, but as a first single whose purpose is to invite you to buy the new album, it falls flat. There's just nothing particularly exciting about it. My brother just came in as I was playing it and went, "Oh, so he does easy listening lift music, too?" What this song really needs to pep it up is a blistering Santana-like guitar solo. If it really is true that Prince had done some music for the film 'The Lake House' perhaps this is part of the background-noise vibe for that film as well as being part of the 3121 project? Like most people here, I just hope the whole album isn't just laid-back lounge music.

If it's meant to be a tool to promote the new album, then I think it's an effective song. It's straightforward, it's got a nice tune and it's a lurve song. I think it'll be reasonably popular and the masses will enjoy it. If the video's good then I think it'll perhaps be quite a hit.
I remember when I first heard The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, I thought it was the blandest song I'd ever heard him do. But look what happened to it! Eventually, and it took time, I loved it. I hope this song has the same effect both on me personally and from a commercial point of view. And ultimately, this would be the first time a new Prince track hasn't overly excited me. I'm thinking there must be something to it that'll eventually kick in and get under my skin. But for now, I think it's just a nice song. Nothing more.

I like it! I think that soft romantic vibe that it has going on is great. The music just conjurs up visions of being on a romantic vacation with your mate and you are driving down a coast somewhere in a convertible. The wind is blowing through your hair, you are holding hands, and the sun is setting/reflecting off the water and all of this beautiful peacefulness is happening as this song plays. BEAU-TI-FUL ?Cause me and u could have been a work of art

I like it even better now than this morning. I love the production, the structure of the song. This song is very vicious. You could think it is easy listening at first and then you discover plenty of treasures in the production.
After Shitology that I really hated, I'm now officially looking forward to 3121 especially if the album has an organic sound like for the single. Il n'y a pas de sentiment plus exaltant que celui d'appartenir à une nation si diverse, si libre et si douée pour le bonheur.

I hope it's one of Prince's misleading tricks to get people to buy the album. Since the general public these days never gets past mellow or midtempo, hopefully he's trying to mislead them into buying an album full of hardcore funk totally unlike the lead single. The same strategy as the lead single "Kiss" and the "Parade" album but in reverse. Andy is a four letter word.
